Bilge/Ballast Waste Recovery

Bilge and ballast waste often contains a mix of oil, water, seawater, and contaminants that require careful handling. At Reliance Recovery NZ, we manage this waste using the same secure process as black oil. The liquid is stored in large tanks within concrete-bundled areas, allowing the water to naturally separate from the oil.

That water is drained, filtered through our clarifiers, and recycled for use in our operations. The remaining oil is then filtered again for specialist refining overseas, where it is reprocessed into reusable fuel—ensuring bilge and ballast waste is responsibly recovered and given a second life.
