Oily and Contaminated Sump Waste

Sumps collect a mixture of sludge, oils, and contaminated water from workshops, wash bays, roadways and industrial sites. Left unmanaged, these contaminants can build up and pose risks to both the environment and infrastructure. At Reliance Recovery NZ, we specialise in the safe collection, dewatering, and recycling of sump waste. By removing harmful hydrocarbons, heavy metals, and solids, we ensure that waste streams are processed responsibly protecting waterways, reducing waste taken to landfill, and supporting a cleaner, more sustainable future for our region.

We filter this waste through our specialised dewatering plant whereby the solids are transferred to drying beds and blended to reduce contamination levels and create a material suitable for reuse or composting.

The water separated during this process is further processed through our plant clarifiers and recycled back into our operations, supporting a closed-loop system and reducing demand on freshwater resources.
